Hi, I'm up all night concerned about my dad who had a stent fitted a few days ago. He is back home and in excruciating pain and still can't swallow anything. He kept being sick and is now worried in case he dislodged it. He refuses to go back in to hospital after being there for two weeks. He has stopped the morphine as that was what was making him sick, they think. The liquid Paracetamol isn't doing anything. Is this normal after a stent? Has anyone has experience like this please?
Hi QueenAngie Welcome to the forum and I am so very sorry to hear what is happening for you and your family.
I think he needs to be a bit sensible and get in touch with the hospital again urgently as he should not have to tolerate that level of pain and they can do things for him that can try to relieve that. They will also be able to reassure him that it is still in the correct place. He needs to be seen and I understand his anxiety but this is not going to go away by itself by the sound of things and needs medical intervention. xx
