Nausea

Hi again all,

Does anybody else get a nauseous feeling in their chest now again with this type of cancer? I’m newly diagnosed and haven’t had any treatment as of yet but I sometimes feel a bit sick in my chest. It thankfully doesn’t last very long. Thinking about it though I’ve had these feelings now and again for months - a lot longer than the feeling of food being stuck in my chest?

Thank you in advance. Sorry I can’t answer many of anyone else’s questions yet but it’s early days at the moment

Do you get it when you eat certain sort of things like beef or lamb? What made me think that something was wrong was I had a weird feeling just below my throat it was really difficult to describe when I ate more solid foods. I imagine it's the food rubbing on the tumour? This got worst for me up until treatment where I had to go to a purely liquid diet. Maybe try softer foods and making sure you really chew everything down before swallowing.

  • Thanks vinny but it’s not when I’m eating as such, it’s usually other times. Apart from a little bit of chicken in a stir fry or a sauce I don’t eat any other meat. I feel a bit more fortunate at the moment than others with same condition as I can still eat most foods, although they are often feeling stuck as they go down and my gullet feels a bit sore for a couple of hours after eating. Take care and thank you for your support

Mention it to your oncologist it's important to tell them about all symptoms as I'm sure they seen it before. My eating and how I feel got a lot better after treatment started I hope you feel better from it too buddy.

  • Thank you vinny, and glad you’re feeling better. I’ve got my appointment tomorrow to discuss the PET scan result and presumably the plan of action from here
