Hi hubby recently diagnosed with OC and having a scan this afternoon to see if anywhere else, but he’s really struggling to eat anything at all says can’t even swallow fluid today he’s also insulin dependent so with him unable to eat also worried about his sugar levels, he’s in pain and throwing up, is there anything that is easily digestible that can help him with nutrition too? Thanks any advise greatly appreciated x
Hi, I’m sorry that your husband is struggling to eat. My Dad struggled at times too. It’s awful for them but also not easy for the people who love them to witness.
My Dad’s doctor prescribed Aymes shakes for him. He wasn’t keen at first but then he got used to them.
I’m not sure if they’re suitable for your husband if he is insulin dependent but maybe worth asking his doctor.
Take care xx
Hi Chillipepper36
Please read the blog I write for my husband, you will find it by clicking on my picture and finding the link in my profile, you may find some suggestions there.
These are difficult days and I am sorry that your husband and your family are experiencing them, you should be able to get Fresubin, Fortisips or Aymes from the GP, get in touch with them, on behalf of your husband and if you can apply for Lasting Power of Attorney - Medical, so that you can ensure that when you are asking for medical assistance for your Husband, you have the ability to do so.
