I'm on or should say I'm with my dad on this roller-coaster of this most horrible disease. 5 weeks ago he was a fit amd healthy 74 Yr old. Just told me "I'm having a bit of trouble swallowing food" he went to the doctors straight away.. Which for my dad is a good thing.. But! yesterday after numerous tests and pet scan we are told its basically too late. How crue! l but thanks too looking at other posts in this site I was prepared.. It didn't hurt any less. But I knew what to expect which helped. I don't know and at the moment I'm not sure how I will cope with the journey a head of us. But we will do it.. And I just wanted to say a massive Thank you too you all that take the time to share your experiences, warts an all. You've made my journey so far much easier knowing I'm not alone xx
Thank you xx

Hi Kate,
Thank you for your lovely reply.
I'm so very very sorry your mum is at the end of her journey. Its such a cruel wicked disease.
Wishing you and your family lots of love.
Take care xxx
Hi Lowe'
Thank you so much for your replies on both the posts.
I had already read all your posts and blogs about your journey with Dal. They have been immensely helpful. Helping me understand about this terrible disease and get my head around the treatments and what to expect next.
Dad has had his stent fitted today and palletive care are coming round to see him about upping his pain relief. Then I hope I can bring him home. But that's a scary thought too.
But we will take one day at a time and I know where to come if I need any help or support.
Lots of love & thank you xx
So sorry to hear about your dad .
It's an awful disease .
Every day is a blessing and make the most of it .Stay strong
