Hi, i have recently been diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus and everything is moving at a pace(pre op assessment on monday) still struggling to act normal when there is something abnormal insidme..i am under a fantastic consultant who is confident he can remove the tumour by endoscopic surgery. Anyone had this sugery?any information on what to expect after.. thank you
Hi
Sorry you find your way here, but I’m glad you have. This is a great place to share good news and bad. A place where you can ask for advice and support.
It is good news that your team can operate. Even better that it may not be a radical oesophagectomy. They must have caught it early.
Have you had any chemotherapy? Have they said whether you might expect any post surgery?
I’m sure there’ll be someone on this forum who can tell you what it’s like. Failing that you can speak to your specialist nurse who can tell you what to expect.
I hope it all goes to plan and you find yourself cancer free very soon.
Counting the days, making every day count.
Brent
