Hi all, my husband has oesophageal cancer and secondary liver cancer. We were told on the 13th July and it has just been a rollacoaster ever since and he is still yet to start treatment. As it is spread he is only having chemo and is due to start in a few weeks however the only symptoms he has had is struggling to eat but does manage to eat however the last few days he has been having severe burning in his stomach, pains in his sides and stomach cramps and tonight he has been vomiting blood. We asked the doctors when we last saw them about 4 weeks ago if there are any other symptoms would should prepare for and they said no. Has anyone else had these symptoms, or any others we should know about, all and any advice appreciated. Leanne
Hi Leanne
This must be so worrying for you and your husband. Your husband’s symptoms seem worthy of a visit to A&E. You shouldn’t be going through this without medical support. Pain and blood are not things to be borne. Hopefully your husband will get sorted and feel more comfortable soon.
I am surprised that you are having to wait for chemotherapy, but maybe there are good reasons for that.
Be strong and supportive, as I know you will be, otherwise you wouldn’t be posting here after midnight.
Counting the days, making every day count.
