Is there anyone that has beat this cancer out there??? My husband was diagnosed in January 2014. Does this type of cancer come back several times? It seems every post is about it coming back! I am frightened for him and our family.
Hi Izzyn
I have stage 3a low grade FL. I was diagnosed just as we went into the first lockdown. I was told that it was incurable and that I’d be on watch & wait until the Lymphoma started causing any problems. About 4 months ago the tumour in my nasopharyngeal area caused me to go deaf in my left ear so I have been given 12 sessions of radiotherapy which I finished just over 4 weeks ago. I was informed from the onset that I would only be given chemo if it was absolutely necessary as the Lymphoma can become resilient to the treatment, therefore, if any problematic tumours arose, they would be treated with radiotherapy as a first choice. Having said that, because I became so upset due to having to have a lot of viable teeth removed before my radiotherapy, my consultant did advise that we could opt for chemo instead and that it would clear all of my Lymphoma and it was possible that the Lymphoma wouldn’t return for several years. I chose the radiotherapy on this occasion.
I think you just have to trust in your consultant and team and discuss your concerns with them. They are the experts and are there to help and advise you.
