Hi all , had my first session yesterday of antibody therapy not pleasant, i had a reaction to it but my lovely nurse lady sorted it out straight away. Long day i think i left at about 5.30pm started at about 10.30 - 11 am.

I have 3 more sessions like that for 3 weeks coming up.

Lovely people cant do enough for you it seems.

  • The first treatment does tend to be pull the pin and see what happens but it’s great that your team were on it and understand how you will react the next time. Rest up and drink lots of water.

    Hi richt,

glad you got through your first treatment ok, that’s always the hardest one as you literally don’t know how your body is going to react to it.

now you got through that one OK it bodes well for future ones.

i had 6 cycles of chemo and antibody treatment that finished in February.

today I have my 2nd maintenance treatment of Obinutuzumab. In general this has caused zero side effects and I’m back into work the next day so I think I am quite lucky.

    regards

Hi, yeah feel abit rough ,i was hoping to go to work today but thought better of it.. i had a reaction to the stuff so i can only have it via i.v  for the next 3 sessions. Just got to watch my temp as im a bit warm but i do have a heat card  so should get seen quicker if need be .the staff were really brilliant there literally anything no matter how small they were all over it .  Glad to hear your doing well anyway. Cheers rich.

  • Hi Richt!

Glad to hear the first ritux went ok. I had a reaction myself and it got sorted smartly.  Now I get a good dollop of antihistimine as a premed each time. Makes me a bit groggy, but haven't had any more surprises like that since!  They do seem to have this stuff organised, which gives me confidence.  They're a rather special bunch of nurses, even by NHS standards.

I just completed my 6 sessions of rituximab and bendomustine, so it's scan and plan time.  My lymphoma's in my hip bone, so it's a slow business shifting it.  Everywhere else was clear after just 3 sessions, so the results are amazing for soft tissue disease.

All you need to do is drink gallons and watch out for infection risks.  And look forward to good results!
