I've come across this forum, I've recently been diagnosed with duodenal cancer and I am almost 3 weeks post surgery. Just looking for others in a similar position to connect with?

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with duodenal cancer and it's natural to want to connect with others in a similar situation so that you can ask questions, share experiences and get support.

I'm not a member of this group but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. It might also be an idea to post in the bowel cancer group, which I can see you've joined, as that is a busier group.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi BrenW,

I hope that you are recovering after your surgery. I was diagnosed with metastatic adenocarcinoma of the duodenum in 2020, I was originally scheduled for Whipples procedure, but because of the spread the surgery was cancelled and I was referred for palliative chemotherapy. I am sorry that I can't help with post surgery information.

    Best wishes
