Hi all,
This is all a new world for me and I'm currently being treated for cervical HPV (what ever number it was).
Now I'm under going x-rays and biopsy on my lymph node in my neck.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? I understood it more if it was localised to the origin area but I'm desperate to find an answer that's not the obvious.
Many thanks in advance
Kim
Hi Kime
I remember you from your posts in the cervical group and am sorry to hear you have another worry to deal with.
I do remember you being diagnosed with CIN, which is not cervical cancer, but precancerous cells. These precancerous cells do not travel round the body via lymphs or blood-they are localised in the cervix. It is possible for cervical cancer cells to travel via the lymphatic system, and travel to distant nodes, but this is not lymphoma of any type-it’s still cervical cancer.
There can be many reasons for lymph nodes to need to be checked-lymphodes can be reactive and swell as a result of infection being fought by the body without this being a sign of a new primary cancer or a secondary cancer, but in a lymphoma group you are going to perhaps get replies fromthose with an actual diagnosis of lymphoma which is a blood cancer. There are many different types of lymphoma, so trying to self diagnose yourself will really not serve any purpose.
You’ll be best to hang in there and wait for the results of your tests before assuming you have any kind of cancer when you haven’t had a cervical cancer diagnosis-it will only make you more anxious and you’ll read about things which won’t necessarily apply to you. You need to know your results before letting thoughts run away with themselves.

Hi Kim
I understand you are worried, but there are so many types of lymphoma that choosing one support group out of many may not be giving you the correct information you’re looking for because this is a group for a specific type of blood cancer.
It’s best to wait for results to know what you’re dealing with, and they may not show any type of cancer. Without a diagnosis of any kind of cancer, it’s hard to anticipate what the issue might be. An issue with lymphodes does not mean someone may have lymphoma, so while I appreciate you are trying to be proactive, that might lead you to further worries before you have any results.

Hi Kime I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups.
Having been on my Lymphoma journey coming up to 26 years I understand this world rather well…… I am sorry that you are having these tests done.
Over my many years helping on the community and another larger Lymphoma specific support platform I have talked with many many people like yourself who had raised lymph-nodes but most folks find that they did not have Lymphoma and this had been caused by infections or other types of illnesses.
The Lymphatic-System is very complicated and very reactive part of the body…….. unfortunately stress is enough to raise our Lymphoma-nodes.
There are a number of Symptoms of Lymphoma that would be showing giving an indication of Lymphoma.
Let’s see what the biopsy says ((hugs))
