Hi, my husband had very aggressive DLBCL in August 2021. 1 round RCHOP which didn't work followed by 2 R-IVAC & R-CODEM X which took him into remission, thankfully. Some kidney injury afterwards but that's improved over time. My question now is.....has anyone who is in remission had high ferratin levels, high iron levels & folic acid? We're not sure if it's lymphoma related or not. The gp wants to do repeat bloods in 5 weeks & skirted around why this has occurred. Would just like some piece of mind I guess & to see if it's an occurance if you relapse?
Thankyou x
Hi again TOBE different type of NHL and Treatment journey for me….. but my blood counts were all over the place (including ferritin, iron and folic) for a good few years after treatment. I never got a clear answer as my consultant was honest and said that these unexplained things happen but as long as I was generally well we ride it out…… 7 years on from those first 2 years post treatment all is ok….. although I now live with some of my counts on the low side of the acceptable ranges.
Hi Mike
Thankyou for replying. That's good to hear. Hopefully then all is well regarding his lymphoma just the kidneys to worry about now ! Really pleased you are doing OK too. Many thanks
Hello, I have just joined this group. I completed successful chemo for DLBCL in April. Had a clear PET scan in June. Blood tests and external exam all clear the beginning of September. However, I began with lower back and tummy pain rewards the end of September. Saw the oncologist yesterday, who thought he could feel something hard on my tummy area. Now waiting for a PET scan. Though, all my bloods have come back completely normal. It’s certainly baffling and very worrying.
Hi Mrs Jacko and a warm welcome to this corner of the community.
Navigating the post treatment journey can throw up many issues….. some unfortunately can be Lymphoma related (I relapsed multiple times over my first 15-16 years of my 25 years journey See my story)….. but as I have experienced, many new issues were ‘other’ health stuff.
Let’s look for this not to be a relapse and a simple explanation is found ((hugs))
