Hi.

Just wondering if anyone on the forum has just finished treatment for CLL ?  I  finished 12 m of obinutuzumab and venetoclax 6 weeks ago and whilst my lumps have gone , i am not yet feeling much different !

I think i was expecting a gradual weekly improvement but doesnt seem to be happening

I have my consultant appointment in 2 weeks as blood test are showing platelets are still low and just wondered if anyone else has experienced a slower than expected response when finishing treatment ?

Still positive but feels a litle bit "anti climax ish "

Thanks but keeping positive and will await next advice and if you have any thoughts etc. Then please let me know

  • Hi again  …….. Dec 22 was the last time you posted…… time flies.

As you may remember my journey was rather different with my types of Lymphoma but I can totally recognise the challenges you are having.

My Consultant told me that going through the treatment process is like doing a boxing match and a marathon every day over the months of treatments and this was done without any training.

Think doing the London Marathon without any training and you had to finish it as your life depended on it……. this is the journey you have been on so it most likely will take much longer than you would think or like to get back to some normality.

Do talk the challenges through with your consultant to ensure they know how you are and for them to check you over and reassure you that this is indeed part of the road to recovery.

Although I was first diagnosed way back in 1999 my main treatments were between late 2013 to late 2015…… and it definitely took a good few years to say that I bsck to some normality and doing normal life things.

  • Thank you mike for your advice.  Yes i am going to discuss with my specialist and perhaps reset my mind in thinking it could be a longer process than i had thought

Just had 4 nights in spain and have enjoyed time away , which others dont get to experience

So all good and will await my discussion with dr and push on
