On the 6th of December I contracted Covid, I contacted the hospital on the 7th was then prescribed anti viral tablets but I had to stop the chemo tablets. After the 5 day treatment I retested myself and found that the bottom line on the Lateral Flow Test was barely visible and thought that the antiviral drugs had done its job. On the 14th started getting night sweats, no energy, dizzy when climbing the stairs and shortness of breath, on the 15th I phoned the hospital and was asked to come in for tests, on the 16th had a sore throat and blocked nose, retested for covid this time it was a strong positive covid test. On the 23rd of December I noticed from my feet to my upper thighs small rash, bleeding in my mouth sore legs and very unwell, I went straight to A and E where they did a blood test and found that my platelets has fallen to 1 (one) and my haemoglobin was 79, i was kept in. I eventually got out of hospital on the 31st with platelets 27 and haemoglobin 90, I was given a drug to help my bone marrow produce more platelets and on the 10/01/23 my platelets were 274 and haemoglobin 101, I then came of the drug and my bloods have been monitored on a weekly basis till I see the consultant on 7th Feb. I am feeling great, in fact the best I have felt for 4 months.

The body is an amazing machine and can put up with a lot and bounce back.
