Hi I was diagnosed in may 2024 with cervical cancer and was given a hysterectomy in July of the same year ( still have both ovaries) I was told that surgery removed all my cancer cells and that I was in remission but I have had lots of stomach pain and swelling over the past few months and in November I started bleeding maybe twice a week, it's not red blood but almost like the end of a period but is quite painful & was wondering if anyone else has had this as obviously my brain goes straight to the worst.
I was red flagged again by the doc & thankfully I have been offered a private hospital appointment on Monday but I'm really struggling to sleep ATM and was hoping my best someone has experienced the same thing?
Hi again Gloria24
I can understand you’ll be worried about seeing bleeding and having pain, and it’s always an anxious time when we experience symptoms which concern us.
I had a recurrence and more extensive surgery than a hysterectomy, so don’t have quite the same experience to share, but it’s good that you’ve got an appointment arranged to get things checked out.
Hopefully other ladies who’ve had a hysterectomy will reply to share if they’ve had anything similar happen to them, and I hope that your appointment next week can give you some reassurance that there’s a straightforward explanation and nothing more serious going on.
Sarah xx
