Hi everyone, a worried husband here,
My wife has just been diagnosed with probable advanced cervical cancer. My wife is going in for a biopsy on Thursday.
I have absolutely no idea what I should even ask on this forum. It's a real shock for both of us. We're optimistic that my wife will have some years ahead of all of this but we are getting ready for bad news.
I don't even know where to begin. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
The hospital sounds like they can offer both of us support, but I'm hoping to get help here in navigating this next, new stage of our lives.

Hi Husband12113013a and welcome to our group.
I’m sorry to read that your wife has p probable cancer diagnosis to face, but there will be support for you here in the group, and of course for her, if she would like to join us too.
I can understand that everything will be shocking and scary right now, and it will be difficult to know what to ask us. Maybe you haven’t had much information from the hospital so far, but can I ask if your wife has had any scans? Usually cancer is diagnosed from a biopsy but I see that she will be having this on Thursday, so I’m just wondering what you know at this stage which has led you to be given a probable advanced cervical cancer diagnosis?
Lots of us will I’m sure be able to offer you support from our own experiences of treatment and/or surgery, and once you know the confirmed diagnosis-stage of cancer and proposed treatment plan-then I’m sure you might have questions we can help with.
I was diagnosed in 2018, had treatment, had a recurrence in 2019 and had major surgery in 2020 and am still here and considered cured. So I’d encourage you to retain your optimism and hope as you embark on all of this. Keep us posted and we’ll be happy to help where we can to support you both.
Sarah xx
