Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with stage 4b cervical cancer. I was initially told it was curable by my consultant, but then my consultant at Christies I'm Manchester has now said its not curable, as it has spread to a lymph node in my neck. I have been told now they are going to manage it, with a cocktail of 3 different chemotherapies, and immuniotherapy if I'm acceptable. It took me 8 months to get this diagnosis and many Dr's and hospital visits. I'm feeling very anxious about it all, and angry that it took so long to get diagnosed.
Does anyone else have this stage?. If so what treatment are you having?.
Thanks
Thanks for coming in to add to the thread Aquabambi and it’s good to read how you’re getting on. Lovely to see you’ve been able to get to Malta for a break-getting away is a big deal for me nowadays and I love it! I’m doing okay thank you and looking forward to a break in the sun next month myself.

So I would definitely consider investing in the best wig you can, for me it’s made a huge difference
I don’t feel comfortable going out in a turban - unless it was just going to visit close family and friends, otherwise I always went out in my wig. I didn’t want to “look sick” if that makes sense!
So glad you’ve had a good break before you gear up for your next round. I’m off to Lanzarote for 10 days-we are lucky enough to have had 3 trips there already this year. We go to a nice flat resort where it’s easy for me to get around, and a hotel which is lovely. I know every dropped kerb in the resort, being on my mobility scooter, and every accessible loo!
Safe travels tomorrow, and hope your next round goes smoothly for you.

That sounds perfect! :-) I hope you have a wonderful time, and enjoy that winter sun!
This was just the break I needed, it’s been so great. Already thinking when I can next get away! I have a friend in Reykjavik who’s invited me to visit, so maybe Iceland is calling!
Xx

They cancelled her pet scan as they no it has spread from mri. She's been told stage 3b but more tests have to be done. They send to be dragging there feet. The only thing they have mentioned to mom is palliative chemo to shrink tumor and pro long life.
