  • Hi  and welcome to the group.

I’m afraid I don’t have the same experiences to share but wanted to say hello while you are waiting for some other replies. I was post menopausal when I was diagnosed and had a different treatment/surgery.

I’m sorry to read are you are struggling-have you received help from your doctor with regards to your menopause?

  • Hi Sarah thanks for writing back to me yes I am in the nhs menopause list ti be seen by a menopause specialist but uts been two years already waiting and I was told could be another year or two I have ti travel two hours away as we don't have any menopause help were I live my gp has tryed me on patches and gels and spray but unfortunately I am not absolutely hrt

  • Oh my…that’s a very long wait to be seen by a specialist..so, what the gp has tried is not working for you or making things any better? I wish I had some useful advice but I was long past a natural menopause when I was diagnosed so I haven’t got any knowledge of HRT.

Can I ask how you found out about your smear results not being correct? Are you taking this any further?

  • I think you may also be able to benefit from having a look at the Womb Group as there are more ladies there who have had hysterectomies, and I notice that they have just started a discussion about ladies who are pre menopausal when they had surgery. This is the link

I’m not sure if any of the ladies there will be able to help with any advice, but I think it would be worth checking it out to see if you can connect with other ladies in your position.

  • Oh, it’s good news that there will be an investigation into what went wrong with your results’ reporting. What an awful thing to happen to you.

  • Thanks Sarah ready appreciate the kinds words mayb if ehy had listen to me to start with they got my cervical cancer early I was running back and fourth fir two years and was getting told Theresa nothing wrong was on in my head

  • Gosh, that’s really shocking.. you were very lucky, although I know it won’t seem like that, because the cancer was at an early enough stage for you to be able to have surgery. However, it’s inexcusable you were put through all of that when it could have been discovered and treated much earlier.
