Hello everyone
Hope you are well
I am Anna and I'm 30 years old and have received cervical diagnosis a week ago. Had an MRI the next day and having my CT scan this Sunday.
The doctors said the cancer looks like its in in its early stages and provisionally staged it as 1A.
I am keeping quite positive but feeling really anxious waiting for results. Hoping the stage won't change.
Wasn't having any symptoms and not having symptoms now either.
Can't believe how well I'm coping to be honest but I've noticed I'm very angry amd frustrated too especially with others but I try to control it.
I'm gappy to have joined this forum

Hi AnnaG
It’s a personal choice to do what’s best for you-I went in on my own for my results because I had no thought it was going to be cancer! On reflection I probably should have taken my partner because there was a lot to take in and a lot of information to take on board, for me at any rate.
I have never gone in alone for any of my many subsequent appointments, because I’ve learned it’s good to have an extra pair of ears.

Hi AnnaG
My treatment started 6 weeks after my diagnosis in the UK. But remember that was for chemoradiation and if you have an early stage cancer then it is most likely to be treated with surgery. It might be very different for that.
My time from diagnosis to treatment was very typical, having spoken to many others in the same situation. The nhs is still dealing with the after effects of the pandemic, and the backlogs caused by this, so often targets for treatment are not met. The target time in the nhs is for treatment to start within 62 days from a cancer diagnosis but it does vary in reality across hospitals.

The wait will soon be over!

Hi AnnaG
Congratulations on your new job! Your training should keep you busy this week. And at least you’ll know details tomorrow which will get you out of this limbo of waiting.
