Hello!
I got my diagnosis of cervical cancer 1 month ago (the day before my 50th birthday). Since then it has seemed like a whirlwind of appointments including a pre op assessment. My head is slightly scrambled.
Hi PuggyLove and welcome to our group.
A whirlwind is right-it’s one appointment after another at this stage of the process! You mentioned a pre op assessment, so I’m presuming you are to have a hysterectomy? That would suggest you have been diagnosed at stage 1?
We have a number of ladies who have had this surgery so I’ll hope they’ll come along and share their experiences. Meanwhile, please feel free to ask any questions and I hope you’ll keep us posted with how you are getting on. I hope you’ll find the group a helpful and supportive environment.

Hi PuggyLove
Yes indeed-a radical hysterectomy is a big surgery to go through. I’ve had surgery myself for cervical cancer so I appreciate it’s quite a thought.
I hope I didn’t make you think I was minimising what you are facing-I just wanted to establish that this was what you were referring to when you talked of the pre op, as there wasn’t much information in your post and there are different surgeries possible for this cancer.
