Hello, so I was recently diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer. Waiting to start treatment x

  • Hello and welcome to our group

I hope you’ll find this a helpful and supportive environment to ask any questions and let us know how you’re getting on. I’m assuming you will be having chemoradiation, given that you’re stage 2? I was stage 2b so went through this treatment plan as have lots of our ladies.

So,we know just what it feels like to have this diagnosis and be in the “waiting to start” stage of the process. Things feel easier once you get going with treatment and you feel you are doing something you can focus on. Just take things a day at a time, and keep in touch as we can help with any questions you might have or advice about the treatment. It’s intense but you’ll get through! A number of ladies in the group have not long finished their treatment, so hopefully they'll pop on to let you know their experiences.

How are you feeling in yourself at this point? It’s always a horrible shock to get a cancer diagnosis, but keep in mind that the treatment is done with curative intent, and your team will do everything they can to manage any side effects as you go along, although you may be lucky and not have any!

Anyway, you are very welcome to join in on any posts and ask anything you need to know.

    Sarah xx

  • Hi Mumma Bear and welcome.  So sorry that you have to join us but we are a lovely bunch!  Do you have a date for treatment to start or do you still have more scans before it starts.  Please feel free to ask about anything you're unsure of or just to rant.  We are  all here for you.
