Hello everyone so I was diagnosed on Monday it’s been a very emotional week to say the least I had a leezt then was called for a mri and ct scan and was told the results following those. I am awaiting petscan next week I live In Southern Ireland if anyone is from here

  • Hello Kilkenny Cat and welcome to our group.

You are right at the beginning of everything when things can be most difficult-you’ve had a cancer diagnosis, but you don’t know what stage it is or what the treatment will be so this makes things hard for you.

Once you’ve had the petscan, all the results will be collated and you will then have a plan of action, which tends to make things easier to deal with. You feel like you are able to focus and get on with dealing with all of this.

We have a lovely group here, where we all help and encourage each other, so you’ll find lots of support as you deal with everything. I’m not sure if anyone lives in Southern Ireland, but hopefully if there is someone they will pop along to say so. I’m in England myself.

Anyway, you are very welcome to be with us here, and I hope you’ll find it a helpful and supportive environment. Your mind will be in a whirl at the moment, but things will calm down once you know what’s happening. Keep in touch.

  • Hi Kilkenny cat.  I'm so sorry to hear of your diagnosis and as Sarah has said, you are probably at the most awful stage of waiting and wondering.  You will feel better when you know what you are dealing with and what your treatment plan will be.  Try to hang in there and stay strong and please ask any questions on here.  We are all in this together, and support each other all the way xxx
