Hello everyone.
I was diagnosed last Monday with cervical cancer but currently waiting for an MRI to see where we are and whether it has spread or not. My biggest issue has been pain. I was on the highest dose of painkillers with little to no relief and started the 5mg buprenorphine patch last Thursday still with little to no relief. I am just wondering if anyone else is dealing with chronic pain.
the pain makes me think that my staging is going to be pretty bad. I’ve been so calm and I think that’s because of the pain I’m in I wasn’t surprised when I got my diagnosis.
I’d love to know if anyone else has felt the same as I have
xx
Hello Loki and welcome to the group.
I did have a lot of pain prior to diagnosis, and was convinced that things were going to be worse than they actually were in the end. I tried lots of different painkillers on prescription and have to say that I did find it difficult to find anything that worked very effectively, or for long. Treatment certainly did relieve the pain-I had chemo and radiotherapy. I hope you don’t have long to wait for the mri to get your staging and get treatment started. This is a horrible stage of limbo while your waiting for more information. And I hope your results are better than you are imagining. xx
