Hi all,
I am sharing my positive news that I am one year on from my diagnosis and surgery and I am doing welll.
I had 1B1 Cervical Cancer, poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma with a component of invasive SMILE. I had a radical hysterectomy a year ago. I had my ovvaries removed and 15 lymph nodes. I did not need any further treatment.
It has not been easy and unfortunately I did have bladder issues and lymphoedema afterwards. Both of these have improved lots though. It just took time. I went into surgical menopause but straight onto HRT and was not too affected.
I still worry about recurrence but I try not to and make sure I focus on living my life to the fullest.
Good luck and lots of love to everyone going through thisxxx
Hi May2 and thanks for sharing your positive update!
It’s really good to hear you are doing well and I’m sure it will be helpful for the new ladies in the group who are facing surgery to read this. Also, it’s positive to see that you’ve coped with the issues you faced afterwards and that they are improving for you.
I think it’s natural for anyone who has been through cancer and treatment to have some level of fear of recurrence, but you are right to focus on the present and live your life as fully as you can.
I hope you keep doing well, and will continue to come back to help with any of the threads where you can share your experience.
Well done!
Sarah xx
