Hi all

I finished chemotherapy and radiotherapy about 6months ago (had cervical cancer and lymphoma)and got an all clear. However, I have developed peripheral neuropathy in my hands, it's very painful and I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and maybe give advice on how best to alleviate the pain?

Linda

  • Hi Linda (

Sorry, I don’t have any experience to share as I didn’t have this, but I hope someone else might be able to help with some advice.

  • I always try my best if I have the right experience and I feel sorry when someone hasn’t had a reply. Apart from this nasty neuropathy I hope you’re feeling good and able to get on with life? You’ve had a huge amount to deal with.

  • Hi Linda

i don't have experience of this but, if you haven't already found it, the Macmillan website has some information about peripheral neuropathy which might be helpful?

    www.macmillan.org.uk/.../peripheral-neuropathy

I was diagnosed with stage 2A squamous cell cervical cancer (node negative) in 2017 following symptoms: persistent, watery, yellow vaginal discharge then post-menopuasal bleeding.  My treatment was a radical hysterectomy followed by chemo-radiotherapy.  My long term side effects include lymphoedema and urinary retention which I manage with intermittent self catheterisation.
  • I have lymphoma and am on R-CHOP chemo. I have developed neuropathy in my feet (a little, after my 2nd cycle but that has gone away now) and just before my 3rd cycle (just had last Friday) in my fingertips. This is spreading further down my fingers now. I just do everything the way that I always do and try to deal with it. I hope it doesn't last too long post-treatment.
