I'm awaiting the start of treatment but in the meantime am in absolute agony with the pain which is basically just in my bum area. I've had a stoma to protect my bowel during treatment and this has healed well and causing no issues.
What painkillers is everyone else on to help with the cervical cancer pain?
Sorry to hear you’re in so much pain. Mine is very painful too as the tumour is bigger than my cervix and very uncomfortable. I’ve been taking nortriptyline, and even though I hate the fogginess of the morning, it’s worth it at the minute. Then I top up with dihydrocodeine/paracetamol during the day (I took it too late today and it gives me insomnia) then zopiclone to sleep. I can’t take nsaids unfortunately. But I like nortriptyline for its fewer side effects. Can you be constipated with a stoma in? I know that exacerbated my pain until I upped my fibre and water intake.
Hi, the pain is terrible I can totally understand what you mean. I was put on Longtec twice a day then shortec inbetween, pregabalin and sertraline too. I was admitted to hospital before my treatment due to sepsis and ended up seeing the pain team they helped a lot. Hope all goes well with your treatment x
