  • Hi all.
  • I recently had surgery for cervical cancer and this week I've been told no more treatment needed. Such a relief hearing it. If anyone else is about to go down this root then I hope you too get the same result. Its been a scary journey but so worth it. I was terrified of having it done but the doctors and nurses where amazing. The scar is almost invisible they did such a good job. The worst part is not being allowed to do much while healing. Make sure you have plenty of things to do. I have appointments with dietician and lymphoedema specialist but things are going really well.

  • Hi

Great news! So pleased for you.

I had my surgery in February and I remember it feeling like a big achievement and move forward in recovery when I could move/bend enough to put my socks on by myself so that I could go out for a walk without needing any help!

Hope you manage to find plenty of things to do to keep yourself occupied while you continue to recover. I’m a big reader so it was fairly easy for me to spend time staying fairly still getting lost in a good book.

  • Hi louise.

Thank you so much. I will look forward to those things too. How are you doing now? It's the little things isnt it. I managed a shower today so feel more human lol.

Can't beat a decent book. Definitely a good way to keep occupied. I read in the hospital but not sure why I haven't since being home.
