Hi quartz30
Great news! So pleased for you.
I had my surgery in February and I remember it feeling like a big achievement and move forward in recovery when I could move/bend enough to put my socks on by myself so that I could go out for a walk without needing any help!
Hope you manage to find plenty of things to do to keep yourself occupied while you continue to recover. I’m a big reader so it was fairly easy for me to spend time staying fairly still getting lost in a good book.

Hi louise.
Thank you so much. I will look forward to those things too. How are you doing now? It's the little things isnt it. I managed a shower today so feel more human lol.
Can't beat a decent book. Definitely a good way to keep occupied. I read in the hospital but not sure why I haven't since being home.

Hi quartz30
The joy of managing to have a shower and feeling fresher! It’s definitely the little things that you have a new appreciation for when you can do them again.
I’m doing pretty well, thanks. I’ve found in the last couple of weeks that I’m now moving around/doing things without thinking about it, which is a really good feeling. I’m now back to taking my Labrador on longer walks - I’m at around 6km a day so working my way back towards the 10km a day I was walking before surgery.
There were times when I was very impatient for recovery to be further along and it all felt to be moving very slowly, but I’m getting there in my own time. I have the first of my 3 monthly check ups at the end of the month, which feels like it’s come round quickly.
Hope your recovery continues well.

Hi louise.
Most definitely. I'm finding it hard not to do things I cant yet. Apparently my body doesn't like clothes either haha. Im stuck in nighties at min. I think its more the scar from the bowel op 2 days later that's the issue.
Aww it sounds like your doing great. I'm sure you will get there before you know it. Must be nice for both you and your dog.
I understand that. Im the same. But look how well your doing now. In your own time is definitely working. I hope everything is good at your appointment.
Thank you
