Hey, just wanted to check if anyone else has had a similar experience.
I had a colposcopy with biopsies taken 5 days ago and have had bleeding on & off since, sometimes bright red, sometimes brown. I know bleeding is perfectly normal after cervical biopsies but every time I have a bowel movement (TMI, sorry) I experience heavier, bright red bleeding. I had colposcopy with biopsies 2 years ago and never experienced this so I’m worried the cervix isn’t healing like it should.
Hi Lou_46 and welcome to our group.
I certainly had quite a lot of bleeding after my biopsies, so I can understand your concern. I had this probably for week, but if you are concerned, the best thing to do is contact the clinic for some reassurance, as It’s always important to be alert for any infection there, and see your gp if you are concerned. Do you know how long it will take to get your results? It can take some time for the cervix to heal.
Sarah xx
Hi Sarah,
Thanks for your reply. The consultant told me around 6 weeks for results but the last time they took 3 months! I’m going away on holiday on Monday for a few days so really hope everything is healing as it should. I’ve not had any of the red flags the consultant mentioned to look out for In case of infection so fingers crossed. x
