Finger and Toes crossed I have no lymph node involvement - do they check this post surgery? and how long did you have to wait to confirm successful treatment?

Yes they send all your removed "bits" off for analysis/histology. I don't know quite how they find out but my follow up appointment was just under 4 weeks after my surgery and the surgeon told me straight away the lymph nodes were negative. I gave him a massive hug!

The surgeons and their teams are totally amazing. Please don't be afraid to ask them lots of questions.

I feel a lot better now I have some idea of what you have been through. I need to focus on your story ️ my little 4 year old keeps asking me why I’m sad as she love me so much so need to snap out of it.

I’m glad you didn’t need any further treatment-you are right in that everything that is removed in any surgery is analysed in the lab to check if any further treatment is required.

You should still be monitored with check ups to make sure all is good, but that normally doesn’t involve the need for any further scans unless you reported symptoms. It should be a chat to see how you are doing, an internal check and a feel around your abdomen and groin-very straightforward.

Hi Chloe thanks for your message x i initially had a smear test as i had had a tiny post meno bleed, that came back high risk hpv and high grade cgin so i had a lletz the next day which came back 2 weeks later as adenocarcinoma and the gyno said he thought it was 1b1 so am going off that but had mri last monday so waiting to hear re that as the mdt should have met on thurs but i havent heard anything yet x the not knowing and thinking the worst is honestly torture, i’m just about functioning but dont really feel like myself anymore x trying to be pragmatic about everything but yeah its tough x i’ll keep in contact with you on this thread x take it easy xx

Yes recovery is going well, I have a follow up appointment in 4 months then once a year for 5 years after that.
