So after a 7 day wait my pet -Ct results r back. After not expecting the unexpected as the MRI was ok, the result has come back with something lighting up in my groin. I need a biopsy with ultrasound asap and then maybe a different plan - depending on what it is they have found. I feel like I’m swimming against the tied again. Surgery put on hold and More waiting more in known
has anyone else had anything simulate ?

Sorry to read you got that nasty shock after the mri being ok, but better to know that something needs investigating before they can confirm if surgery is to go ahead. The biopsy will confirm if it is worrying or not, but it’s so much better to have a change of plan than a surgery which could be risky.
I only had a pet scan when they wanted to confirm if I had a recurrence, and it lit up on my cervix so I don’t have any experience of having this type of scan in my first diagnosis. I had a biopsy under anaesthetic which confirmed the cancer was back and the the pet to check for any spread. I’m sure other ladies will have had pet scans as part of their initial diagnosis and may be able to share their experience.
It’s horrible for you having more waiting and worry, but hopefully the biopsy can be done quickly and you get your results soon after so you know what’s going to happen next.

Thanks Sarah. It was a bit of a shock. I think we all know there could be something else we really hope it’s not when we have scans! He
gave me a lot of scenarios over the phone none of which I can remember ! I just hope it’s all done quick and results back quick as the pet-Ct took 7 days to get to him - private clinic to NHS. .
And I have no idea what it is or how big it showed up.
I’m not a fan of phone appointments at the start of this process as it can be far too much to take in, especially when they race through various potential outcomes when you’ve just been hit with something you weren’t expecting. Are you getting things done on the nhs now? Sometimes it can hold things up going private with stuff having to go back and fore between the two.
They can’t be certain yet what it is, so probably won’t want to speculate. The biopsy will give the definitive answer, and that will define the treatment plan. But the positive from that is that it will be the correct treatment plan.

Ah, I get you. Not everywhere has pet scanners. I had to go to yet another hospital to get mine done.
