I don't expect things to happen over night but I'm getting so anxious waiting. I was diagnosed at the beginning of Jan had my MRI at the end of Jan. I still have no idea what stage I am at. I've been waiting watching the post for a PET scan appointment for 2 weeks only to now find a referral hasn't been made yet. How do you cope being in such limbo. Can't help but think it's growing spreading and getting worse
Oh LJ86I’m so sorry the referral wasn’t even made for you for the pet scan. My scans (ct and mri) were done within about a week of diagnosis and then it was just a wait for the results, but at least they were done. Has the referral now been made? It’s unlikely to have any bearing on the outcome and stage but even so, this is awful for you.
If I were you I would chase again in a week or so if you haven’t heard anything by then. It’s just terrible to leave you waiting like this. xx
Hi LJ you will get plenty of great advice on here and absolutely everyone will agree that the waiting is the very hardest part of the entire process. I personally get lost in a book..I had to force myself to concentrate at the beginning but it does get easier. My gp also gave me a wee pill called buspirone (anti anxiety) they helped when things were realy bad. Ring your surgery explain how your feeling and see if they'll prescribe something for you.
Hugs xx
Hi LJ86,
it is totally normal to feel so anxious. It is highly unlikely to spread so fast, from MRI scan, your doctor should be able to advise on the stage. Did you have a biopsy? PET scan is only to see if the cc has spread to other organs not in the vicinity of your cervix. Did they arrange for an appointment to discuss treatment? Just to give you some perspective on timeframes from me:
july 20 - heavy bleeding
End aug 20 - stage and possibly treatment plan
beginning of sept 20 - eua - change of plan
beginning of oct 20 - started treatment
unfortunately it takes time…

Thank you. I have propranolol that I pop like skittles. I just need to vent and out it out there x
I hope so. You need the pet scan for a full picture of results to give the stage and then treatment plan and it all needs to be discussed at the multi disciplinary meeting, so there’s still a bit of a wait in store. xx
Hi
Yeah I had colposcopy and biopsy in November. Met with doctors for diagnosis they said I had cin3 cells and a squamous circoma (ignore spelling) that doc said he believed I wouldn't need chemo but would be surgery. I've had MRI wasn't told a stage only that it wasn't advanced and that I need a PET scan. I have no other dates for anything.
