  • Hi Juliux and welcome to the group

I’m so sorry you are sounding so down-I know the treatment is tough, but please stick with it. Some of our other ladies have done a couple of weeks of treatment, and some are just about to start, and I’m sure they’ll come on and chat with you. It’s hard to feel positive at times, but this treatment can be so effective at getting rid of the cancer, and it’s important to do it all. Have you spoken to your team about how you’re feeling? There are lots of things they can do to help with side effects...I’m not sure if it’s steroids after chemotherapy that are stopping you from sleeping, or is it something else? Are you in any physical pain?

The best thing to do as far as eating goes, is eat what you can, when you can. Little and often can be good, and just eat what you fancy and can get down.

Although the treatment is hard, it’s just a few weeks to get through it, with the thought that every day is a day closer to getting rid of the cancer. I Went through it 3 years ago so I do understand. What is it you are finding hardest to deal with? And how can we help you? You’re not alone-you’ve made a good step by posting here and we will try to help and support you. Please keep going-it’s so worth it. xx

  • Hi Juliux, sorry to hear you are suffering.  I have just finished Week 2 of  very similar treatment and until this weekend I was doing fine but this weekend I have not been able to leave the loo for long and I can't face certain foods.  I was actually very uncomfortable with it on Saturday but today I decided I'm going to "manage" it.  As Sarah has said, I eat only what I fancy and very little and often and I have felt so much better today.  Your nurse should be able to help you with sleep.  Try to take one day at a time and don't look too far into the future at the moment, it's enough just getting through each day and each day you get through is one day nearer the end.  I hope you can find some help for your side effects.  Please let us know if there's anything we can do to help.  It is worth fighting on.  Sending strength and healing xxx
