Hi I was diagnosed with cervical cancer at Ester,I have had radiotherapy, chemotherapy and brachytherapy.Had my 3 month after treatment scan last week, had to go for a biopsy to be taken yesterday, been told cancer is a lot smaller but not gone.Just wanted to know if anyone knows what will be next, not seeing Oncologist till next week.
Hi Kimbe
I’m sorry to read that your cancer isn’t quite gone after all your treatment. I wasn’t quite in the same position, as I was told I was NED after my 3 month scan. There was however some residual cells which can’t be picked up on a scan so my cancer was back within a matter of months.
In your case, as you’ve had a biopsy already to confirm the cancer is still there, it would probably be stronger chemotherapy next. I’m presuming you had Cisplatin first time round, so if you have chemo again it may be a cocktail of different chemo drugs.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
