My first time posting on here. I have been diagnosed with breast cancer in the bone. At the moment my left 6th rib has been confirmed. Have been told I will start 4 weekly injections with Denosumab, possibly within the next 3 weeks. My case will be dicussed with the Oncologists who will then let me know my treatment. I have a follow up appointment with the Oncologist on the 30/7. I know nothing more than this. I am going on holiday the 3rd week in August to Guernsey. I have tried to get Insurance through Staysure, but they say I cannot get a quote prior to 2 months before the holiday. Is this normal? Thank you C

  • Hi I am Tricia sorry to hear your diagnosis . I also have breast cancer in both and in my t4 and t9  bones in my spine.I was diagnosed last year in February/march. I see oncologist every 8 weeks now and have the  denosumab every four weeks . We get insurance with  insurance with  it is the cheapest for cancer . I am going to Australia in September and we have already got the insurance I found staysure was to expensive . Good wishes on your journey xxx

  • Thank you for the info. Will contact them. X

  • Hi Caramel01  I have breast cancer with extensive bone mets.  I got my travel insurance through Insurancewith as well.  So much cheaper than anywhere else.  Good luck with treatment and enjoy your holiday.

  • Hi

I am sorry you have been diagnosed with bone mets and are about to start treatment. It’s a good idea to have a holiday to look forward to. Please check your oncologist is happy for you to travel.

I have metastatic cancer and have been buying annual travel insurance from Insurancewith since my diagnosis, with no issues. In fact I am currently replying to this from Mallorca. If only it was sunny outside!
