Hi

I wonder if someone else have experiences this? I got fever when I started my third cycle  Ribociclib and two days later it has gone above 38 so I ended up in hospital. They found a gallstone and a gallbladder infection. Got antibiotics and penicillin and 4 days later I was sent home. I was feeling ok but extremely tired. Oncologist told me to wait until 3 days ago to go back on Ribociclib so I did. Took the 400gram around 9 am. Felt ill around 2 pm. Got fever 37.4 at 4 pm. Fever went up to 37.9 later, took 2 paracetamol and slept for 18 h, only woke up for drinking water, tea and apple juice. Then I was fine but scared. What do I do now? I have sent a message to the team this morning but they haven’t replied yet.  I wonder if I still have bacteria in my gallbladder and the Ribociclib set off the fever. I have got a follow up appointment for taking the gallbladder out in October ( not the operation) just a consultation.

sorry about long message but I don’t know what to do

  • Hi

I am one of the community champions on this site. I haven’t had this experience as I have neither had gallstones nor Ribociclib, but didn’t want your post to go unanswered. I think with any issues during treatment your 24 hour acute oncology helpline number is your friend. I had a number of encounters with them during my treatment, some resulting in going in and then returning home with drugs; others resulting in hospital admission. I hope they can stabilise your situation soon.
