Hi I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer for which I had a mamoplasty and they removed some Lymph nodes. Unfortunately the Lymph nodes were cancerous so I was due to have a second op tomorrow but after a pet scan they have cancelled it as it has spread to my lungs.
I am waiting to see the Oncologist and hopefully have hormone treatment. This has all happened very quickly. My first Surgery was in July. Does anyone else have any similar experiences? The waiting for test results/ to see Oncologists is tough.
Hi there
really sorry to hear your news about it spreading I was diagnosed last September so coming up to a year and I was advised I had breast cancer 2 weeks later I was advised it had spread to my bones to be honest I have been on a roller coaster it is hard waiting for scan results and some days I was just in constant fear but I have to say it has got better I read a lot now and try to listen to positive storey of people living for a long time with secondary cancer there’s a few good booked I have read the most recent one is about a lady living with secondary cancer for nearly 14 years now the books called Glitter my Turd there are a lot of treatments out there to help sp hopefully you will have other treatment options
i take life a day at a time and try and be grateful for today it sounds sp corny and at first that was not easy but it has got easier over time I have had to surrender and practise acceptance on a daily basis I really wish you the best there is also a good forum called Seconds count put that in google I have found it really helpful
good luck x
Thankyou so much. Yes I get one day at a time, that is my Mantra for the moment. It has been a roller coaster no doubt about that. I have had amazing care though.I will look for the book.
I am positive but also scared. My Mum had Leukemia . She was diagnosed on the Wed and passed on the Sat. A long time ago now and I know there is so much that can be done nowadays.
I wish you all the best in your journey too. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long to see the Oncologist. Thankyou again. X
