Hi, sorry if my post is vague. I am still coming to grips with things.
My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer 2019, she had a mastectomy, Diep surgery, chemo and radiotherapy followed by letrozole, 3 weeks ago we were told she has secondary breast cancer in her liver and bones.
she has begun treatment which is 18 weekly rounds of chemo(sorry I don’t know the name) she has only had 2 sessions of chemo and she is wiped out.
Today she couldn’t keep water down. She takes anti sickness pills and painkillers but she seems to be suffering so badly with sickness, heartburn, constipation and fatigue, she is sleeping all the time.
I suppose I am looking to see if anyone else has a similar story or can offer any advice?
my heart breaks for her.
Hi I am sorry that your mum is struggling! It sounds as though she is on paclitaxel, which I started on with similar mets; it stabilised everything and made me feel better. She should not have to cope with feeling so bad; you should ring the breast care nurse/ oncology team and ask for help asap.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
