Hi everyone. I’m 41, been living with secondary meta for 8 years and have only just found this. Will be so useful for advice and knowledge of trials etc, so look forward to meeting you all online soon!
Dear Lizzie welcome to the group. I was only diagnosed SBC in April and am now 2.5 weeks into treatment (Palbo and Faslodex). For us newbies it is so encouraging to hear of people living with this for a long time so reading your post was a lovely end to my day. Take care Lyn.
Hi Lizzie, good to meet you. I have only just been diagnosed and had first treatment this week. It's good to remember so many people are going through the same tough time. We can still get a lot of joy from life, I hope. The fear of what might be in store is the worst thing for me ATM .
Hi Lizzie! Good to hear that you've survived for at least 8 years with secondary mets. I survived breast cancer at the age of 39, stage 2, and now, 19 years later, it has returned (well a new cancer tumor 1 centimeter) in my right breast. Same breast had lumpectomy before. Her2 Positive, Estrogen receptor positive, progesterone negative and multiple nodules in both of my lungs. I've had one chemo treatment so far, and I'm supposed to have five more. Then I will have Herceptin infusions every three weeks for the rest of my life. Has anyone heard of anything like improving on the Herceptin treatments, such as capsules some day? Injections? I know that studies are always ongoing for these kinds of things, and we usually don't know of any progress unless it comes out on the news.
I don't know if I will attend any studies or not, Morgantown, West Virginia isn't too far for me to travel, so I may go there to participate after the chemotherapy regimen is over in November. Hope to hear from anyone with similar diagnosis. thank you-- Keep Praying
Hi Lizzie
