Hi,

Has anyone else had their treatment delayed because of the coronavirus?

I’ve been on continual treatment for almost three years and have been stable.  I have just finished my second clinical trial which was working but had to be stopped due to toxicity to the eyes.  They tell me they have no more trials for me at the moment and I have been told to transfer my care back to my local hospital.  After a telephone consultation with my hospital have been told they will make an appointment for 8 weeks time!  Obviously this is due to covid-19 but I haven’t had any treatment or a ct scan since 6 February so how do they know whether I am still stable and whether I even have 8 weeks.

I’m so worried as I am stage 4 mbc.

  • It is scary isn't it.  My treatment has been stopped as well as my monthly blood tests and 3 monthly scan which was due in April.  I am considered to be at great risk by my oncologist and he has told me to stay at home and avoid going to the hospital.    Can't help worrying about what is going on inside though.   Difficult feeling so out of control.

  • Hello Debi, totally understand where you’re coming from but I was always told no news is good news and if there was something wrong they would contact you. However because of this virus we are all overthinking with all this time on our hands.I know it’s easier said than done but try not to worry too much and keep safe.
