I work full-time as a support worker (no physical care involved), and as the Government aren't as yet imposing self isolation for those of us who are vulnerable, I feel compelled to put myself and my clients at risk and carry on working (I can spend between 2 and 4 hours with a client). This feels crazy and whilst I don't especially want to self isolate (I live alone), I do think those who can make these decisions should get on with it imposing it as I don't at this point think I have the right (employment wise), to choose to stop work and do this... I am waiting to hear from my employers as to what to do.
Just sounding off!!
, I think we all need to sound off, but maybe at our politicians. It does seem we have a very wishy washy response and someone needs to take some decisions - other govts are. Good luck with your situation, it is really difficult for single people and those who need to work to live, which is most of the population. Yours isnt exactly a job which can be done from home! Problem is that someone has to look after the vulnerable, but you are vulnerable too.
good luck.
