Hello

I have just completed 3 sessions   of Eribulin which consisted of 2 treatments per session and l week off .

Now going for a CT scan this week.

Anybody on this Chemo or had results .  l have been told this is my last chance.

If you are found to have breast cancer ensure that you get CT Scans during the 5 years and dont get signed off without a CT Scan.

My Cancer spread in the 5 years but no scans were given. So found it had spread only 3 month after being signed off. So now have it in Lungs, Bone and Liver.

When I lost mine, one of my chemo nurses told me that she says just that now  - it's uncommon but can happen because she'd had a couple of people who had been told that it wouldn't fall out and it did! Better to be safe than sorry and warn people!!!

Fingers crossed for stable scan results for you

I finished my 1st cycle thinking I had done quite well on it but then ended up in hospital for 3 days as my neutrophils were .3 Rolling eyes and now my hair is falling out. Doh

trying to be positive and at least they can give me those tommy injections for the next cycle.

Hope you are all doing ok

    Hi

That sounds very familiar! On my first cycle I was in hospital by day 4 with neutrophils of less than 0.2 and on day 8 my hair fell out! I was in for 9 days as I also had a PE. I did have the boosting injections to help.

The Eribullin dose was reduced to 75% was the second and third cycles but it still hospitalised me due to reduced neutrophils. I'm now on 50% dose, which I tolerate well and it's still working, my hair is growing back and I no longer need the bone marrow boosting injections (although I have to so anticoagulant ones instead!)

There is hope, I've just had the day 8 dose of cycle 14...

Best wishes for the next cycle - hopefully it'll be different, but if not, you'll know what to expect!

Oh Button, welcome 2 the Eribulin failure club - me 2.

When I was starting that they said it would b the only chemo drug left 4 me 2 try (I've pretty much had the same drugs as u having looked at ur profile).

However, after also having a s*** time recently, I've had 5 blasts of radiotherapy 2 3 different areas & the plan is 2 start another chemo - possibly nxt week ( subject 2 the Onc saying yeah). Going 4 one called E.C.

Chin up. Many people have brain mets (Kris Hallenga of Coppafeel I know has mentioned hers) & have responded well 2 treatment.  So let's kick butt!!

    Take care hun

    WB xx

    And me 3.

Sorry to hear your news Button, I hope whatever is next for you is successful,.

Wee Blonde I have completed 2 cycles of EC. Did you have FEC originally? I haven't read anything about your previous treatments.  When I had my primary diagnosis 5 years ago I had 3 cycles of FEC. If you did have it you may remember the huge syringes of red liquid. EC is part of this treatment. I am having a scan after the next treatment to see if it's blasted my liver and if so will have a 4th treatment.

The plan then is to go back to a hormone treatment as all the chemo treatments have failed so we are hopeful this may keep it stable for a while. It's very frustrating hearing some people have a long time on a treatment and I can't manage more than  3 months!! Shows how everyone responds differently.

All the best to you both

    Vicky

    Me 4!

I had 3 cycles of Eribulin. I had huge (but not total) hairloss during cycle 2, what's left is grey and curly, it's about 2 inches long and I try to flatten it when it's wet and it looks much better.

My CT scan showed that there was further growth in the liver, my bowel tumours seemed stable and no idea about bones. Onc said I could stay on it as I felt pretty well and it was obviously slowing things down. However he also suggested changing to Carboplatin which has more troublesome side effects. Onc thought that as I am otherwise for and well it's a good time to try the Carboplatin as if we left it it later I may not be strong enough to tolerate it.

Such a hard decision to make, stay on eribulin as its slowing growth, easy short hospital visit and few side effects versus new drug which might floor me.

I went for Carboplatin. First week I was really exhausted, in bed for the first few days. Controlled the nausea with loads of drugs which petered out after 5 days. The second week I've had waves of nausea and a day of vomiting, I've been taking domperidone as needed, but it really is better to avoid nausea rather than treat it once you have it.

I was told this is my last resort, onc has referred me to Addenbrookes for trials, but said there's still some things to try..... cycle 2 on Thursday and scan due after number 3.

Good luck ladies. Make the most of the good days xxx

I have had 3 cycles of Eribulin but did not help the lung, liver, bone. This was my last option from my Onc and have put me on palliative

Care.  Can you tell me how may different  chemo's you have had, as my ONC said l wouldn't meet the the necessary for trials

i have had Letrozole, Capecitabine, Exemestane, Bad reaction to Paclitaxel, Vinorelbine, Eriubicin, Abraxane with Zoledronic Acid

restarted Letrozole but CT scans showed progressive disease then 3 cycles of Eribulin but CA15.3 showed significant Increase.

Secondary Breast Cancer was found 2014 after 5 year and being signed off without CT Scan. Only to be back at ONC 3 months later.
