I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer nearly 5 years ago stage 3 HER2+. Had a single mastectomy, lymph nodes removed, radiotherapy, got lymphoedema Presco for 18 months followed by 22 rounds of Kadcyla. More lymph nodes removed from opposite armpit. Cancer has now changed to negative. Told I am too old for more chemo. Will be starting radiotherapy shortly. What are the prospects

I am sorry you are facing further cancer treatment. I am a bit unclear as to whether your cancer has recurred, spread, or if you have a new cancer in the other breast. Also, when you say it’s become HER2 negative, do you mean it’s now triple negative (ie so ER and PR negative too)? Whatever the answers it’s always worrying, particularly if the balance of risk and return means chemo isn’t an option. I don’t think anyone other than your own team can advise you on prospects. Sometimes it’s better not to ask as you don’t want a ‘use by date’ and it’s also difficult for anyone to be able to predict with accuracy. I have metastatic tnbc and have been living with it since 2022, alive and thriving.
