Hi lovely people. I found out in 2022 that my breast cancer had come back with a large depisit in my femiur and several other small areas in the vertibrae. Initial diagnosis in 2010.
Ive had ribociclib reduced to 200mg for the last year and for the last 5 months, taking 2 week breaks every cycle due to constant neutropena.
Most of my cycles ended up having at least 2 week breaks anyway, with several hospital admissions with severe infections.
I had scans 2 weeks ago and the tumour in my femur has grown from 3.7cm to 4.5cm, since January. I am really shocked.
Theyve already started me on radiotherapy for 10 days.
Has anyone else been in this situation of progression while being on the lowest dose and with frequent extended breaks?
I'm now off ribociclib due to having radiotherapy.
I know I was being discussed at a a multidisciplinary meeting, but I really dont know what's going on.
Any advice would be welcome.
Sea Ranger.
Hi Sea Ranger
I am one of the community champions on this site and didn’t want your post to go unanswered. I have metastatic breast cancer but mine is tnbc so I don’t have experience of ribociclib or letrozole. I am sorry you are experiencing progression as well as treatment issues. I hope the radiotherapy helps and that you get a treatment plan that works for you and is tolerable.
