Hi All, I originally had stage 2 breast cancer that had spread to my lymph nodes. I had a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. This was back in 2008.. I was put on Tamoxifen for five years and then given the all clear.
However, I started getting pain in 2018 then finally in July 2022 I was diagnosed with stage four metastatic breast cancer, which had spread to the bones and my lung. For the last two years, I’ve been taking Abimiciclib along with Letrozole and Danasumab and Prostap injections. I’m no longer responding to this treatment so I am starting Capecitabine (2000mg twice a day) as from Sunday and continuing with Denosumab injections.
Does anybody have similar experiences to me and are on Capecitabine? If so, what side effects have you experienced?
Thanks G
Hi MommaG
Sorry to hear that you have Stage 4 breast cancer. I was put on Capecitabine after my surgery in 2021 as I had some cancer left in my lymph nodes. I had 8 cycles of the drug, two weeks on and one week off. I didn't experience any side effects from it and I was able to have all 8 cycles.
Wishing you the best of luck with it and hopefully like me you won't have any side effects.
Best wishes
