Hi all,

It’s been a while but I felt the need to come back on today, my story began in Nov 22, found a lump, surgery Feb 23, radiotherapy in August that year and on letrozole for the foreseeable.
THe  following Feb/Mar I contacted my surgeon as he had said 6months after radio, he would ‘even me up again’ so to speak. I met him and had my pre op then was called for my first annual mammogram in the August, they found it again! The other side this time and a primary tumour so back I went in sept24 to have a second lumpectomy, a further week of radiotherapy and abemacyclib for 26months as well as letrozole.
they then suggest looking into my genetics to see what’s happening there, surgeon, (not my previous one) suggested a double mastectomy straight away as they found I was caring the Chek2 gene. I opted for a less invasive plan and we all agreed I would have monitoring via scans etc.

They then find nodules on my lungs as a result of the scan, same surgeon told me the cancer was back and they I would need chemo and couldn’t tell me how long I had! My oncologist was wonderful and said he would not do anything until he was completely sure what he was dealing with and subsequent tests and monitoring we are now 12 months later and the nodules have shrunk with out intervention so now potentially look like something other than cancer so happy days Yh?! Nope no chance! Just had annual mammogram couple of weeks ago, and suprised suprise I got a call back for ‘further investigation’ on Monday!!!! My brain is about to implode, this comes in the same year my 22 year relationship ended very suddenly, I have had to rebuild my life and myself over the last 8 months and now this bull ****

I know it’s early days and this may not be anything sinister this time but I think we probably all agree that once the C bomb comes into your life, every ache or pain becomes cancer and the stress and worry we cause ourselves overthinking it is massive.

So sorry to whinge I neeed to let it all out. Take care all and best wishes with your own journeys xx

  • I’m so sorry that’s a lot for anyone to be dealing with, let alone on top of everything else.   It’s the waiting too.   I will keep everything crossed and if it is you know you can come back here for support.
