Hi there,

I'm just looking for tips help or any support. Im having the her2 protein breast cancer treatment. I think the chemo drugs they are using are docetaxel and phesgo. I had a reaction to the docetaxel 2mins in and couldn’t breath so they treated me with antihistamines after stopping then got back on it after so the beginning was stressful to begin with. I had a couple of days feeling slow but ok then the diarrhoea and nausea hit on day 5 and it’s been relentless. The first nausea med they gave me beginning with m (sorry can’t remember and I’m tucked up now with very little energy to go and look) works by speeding up your bodies functions which did not go well with the diarrhoea! So they moved me onto ondansetron 4mg first of all paired up with buccal then cyclizine as buccal wasn’t working.
so far ondansetron is working okish and the nausea has leaned up a little though it’s still in the background every now and again. I’ve no appetite though so it’s super hard to eat.
the diarrhoea was aggressive for some days in its frequency which has now calmed down but everything is still more liquid than solid. I’ve already lost weight which is a worry and I’ve no energy and a little dizzy and weak. I thought I was better yesterday. Even had an appetite, so I ate more than I’d eaten all week, which then ended up as a monster session on the toilet this morning which has now set me back all day today. I feel weak and unwell again. I’ve only been the once today though thank god. I’m now eating little and often with things like crackers and rice.
All this has just been so hard. I’ve kept my oncology team updated with everything, but I’m just so scared that this is it now and I’m going to be feeling like this for 17 weeks. I just don’t see how I can carry on like this. I’m also getting really intense dreams now too. I woke up the other day with tears in my eyes! I’m worried that this is the ondansetron as it blocks serotonin to stop nausea which I’m worried I might be too sensitive for.

This is going to be an eternity if it’s like this all the time.
