Can someone explain to an old lady what this is and how to find out what mine is? Thank you.
Hi Crissie
My name is Daisy53 one of the Community Champions on this forum. I'm sending you a link from Breast Cancer Now which explaines what an Oncotyne test is and who it's for. Here's the link: Oncotype DX | Breast Cancer Now.
Wishing you the best of luck with whatever happens next for you.
Best wishes

Hi Crissie
If you have early stage oestrogen positive, HER2 negative breast cancer, your hospital might send a biopsy sample for the Oncotype DX test. The test looks at the activity of 21 gene types that can be involved in breast cancer, and gives a score. The oncologist uses the score to help decide whether chemo might be helpful or not. The hospital might not have asked for the test to be done either if you don’t have that type of breast cancer, or they already know chemo will be beneficial. I didn’t have an oncotype test because I don’t have the relevant sort of breast cancer.
