My mum kept things hidden from me while my son was taking her to scans, and wont talk to me about it, neither will my son. I always took my mum for any medical appointment/ops previously, but my health has declined in the last few years. When I found out, I begged her to let me go with her and my son, as neither are ones to ask questions.

She felt a lump, and her gp got things moving, and she has had to scans, 2nd one to see the lymph nodes, which showed it was in one. They initially said she'd need a mastectomy, but as she has lung condition bronchiectasis and kidney disease, she will be 88 this week, and was told on Wednesday that it's safer to not have the op, they said it's a slow growing cancer, but she hasnt had a biopsy done, so how do they know? She was told medication would make her feel bad, so they aren't doing anything, and it's killing me to not have been there to question these decisions. She is fitter than I am, and I feel they have just seen her age and going on that? I have so much going on in my head, with no answers, and im shut down if I try to mention anything, and my son is standing by my mums wishes. I lost my dad a year and a half ago, which has really affected my mental health, so being pushed away is pushing me closer to the edge. I looked into certain things about breast cancer, and it depended on if it was receptor + or -, but I dont know, and can they tell without a biopsy?

My heart goes out to all of you who have been diagnosed with breast cancer Ribbon  Please dont shut your families out, as I feel so useless for not being there to fight for my mum as I've always done, with so many questions eating away at me. X
