Last year in June I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Over the past year, I have undergone surgery, chemo and radiotherapy. I also had the cold cap, which for me was great, I only lost about 10% of my hair, and my hair now is thicker than it was before. There was no need for a wig, which was great.
i am still having bone infusions, which I will receive twice a year for 3 years, but that is all of the treatment I will now have.i did have a time for concern a couple of months ago, when I felt that there was another lump in the breast. I was treated within the week, with a mammogram and scan, and fortunately all the results were negative.
yesterday I saw my oncologist, and was given the all clear., shook hands and said goodbye (it was a lovely feeling)
the sheer professionalism and care that I received from Dorset Health Care was absolutely fantastic, from the speed I received treatment from the hospital when I was originally referred to from my go, throughout the whole period of treatment.
the support and care that I received from the cancer team was incredible .
i hope this level of care and support can reassure anybody who is just starting there treatment plan.
