Hi Pete, sorry you find yourself here, the fact you’re here shows already that you will be a loving and good support to your wife. I had her2 invasive breast cancer and had chemo before surgery. I had a 13 year old at point of diagnosis. If you click on my name it will tell you my experience of chemo and surgery. I say my experience because we can all be affected differently but I was told I had a pretty average experience. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have, there is also a friends and family forum but you’re welcome here. MacMillan are also amazing, they’ll offer you support, I once rang and cried to a nurse for 2 hours and it was so helpful. Taking it one day at a time is the way through, not trawling the internet and scaring yourself also helps. Keep positive, there are lots of us here who are through treatment and living good lives, it feels so awful now and these early days are the worst emotionally.
