ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. My mother had a lumpectomy 6 weeks ago and has had three abscess in that time. The last drained 24 hours ago. She’s due to start radiotherapy next Thursday but is 79 , exhausted and the breast is very inflamed and sore. She’s also on day 5 of antibiotics. We are concerned having radiation on the area until it’s healed
Hi Hel263
I suggest your mum contacts the radiotherapy department for advice. I don’t think they will want to start the radiotherapy until she is healed but they will know best. Calling may save her a wasted trip.

I have metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer, in remission
Hello
Thank you . When I went to the breast clinic to have the abscess drained they said radiotherapy will decide when we get there but that’s a really good idea that I call them as it’s 2 hours 45 minutes to the hospital so may save a wasted trip. I didn’t realise I could call them directly.
